March 24, 2008 - Scottsdale, AZ: Get Digitally Organized Inc., (GDO)
Owner and Operator of TransportationReviews.com,
continues to drive the importance of Transparency within
the Ground Transportation Industry. The TransportationReviews.com
website allows Travelers to Locate, Read and Write Reviews on
Airport Ground Transportation Companies including Taxis,
Limousines, Shuttles and Charter Buses.
According to a March 2008 Arizona
Transportation Transparency Study on Private Ground Transportation
Carriers conducted by Get Digitally Organized Inc,
the Majority or 52.7% (69 out of 131) of the Websites of Ground Transportation
Companies who operate within the State of Arizona do NOT provide
or display basic Contact Information including a complete
Business or Mailing Address.
The purpose of
the 2008 Transportation Transparency Study is to
determine the Level of Transparency as a whole within the
Arizona Airport Ground Transportation Industry. The Transportation
Study included the analysis of 131 Websites which
provide Ground Transportation Services.
The majority of the websites from within the
Study were located using Search Engines and Business Directories
via the internet.
A number of these companies
included in the Transportation Transparency Study have indicated
on their website that they provide Ground Transportation Service
to and from Arizona Airports. According to the Phoenix Sky Harbor
Airport website for VIP or Prearranged Service using Private
Carriers, their website states to "check to see if they are
authorized to operate from the airport." Todd Nemet, the Site
Administrator for TransportationReviews.com states that
sometimes a complete Business Address may be required in
order to verify if a company is authorized and has proper
permits to operate from a specific airport. The Business
Name displayed on a Company Website may not match with the
database records used by the Airport Ground Transportation
Office or with the Arizona Weights and Measures Department.
In many cases a Company can be verified by a Phone Number
or Business Address.
Companies who receive an airport
permit are required to show proof of a Vehicle Registration and a
valid Certificate of Insurance. Companies who operate without a
Permit may also be unlicensed and may not posses the required
vehicle insurance. Therefore passengers may find themselves
liable for their own medical bills if their vehicle is involved
in an accident.
A number of these companies from
the 2008 Transportation Transparency Study are listed within
the TransportationReviews.com Free website Directory.
According to Todd Nemet, the site administrator, any website
which lacks basic Contact Information is researched against
various Public Records in an attempt to obtain a valid
business address prior to inclusion within our Ground
Transportation Directoy. The TransportationReviews.com
website also provides online tools to allow a Company to
make a request to be added to our Free Directory or to
update their existing company profile. All requests are
Human Reviewed by our site administrator to verify Relevancy
and to verify that they meet the sites Guidelines.
As part of the 2008 Transportation
Transparency Study, Company Names, Addresses and Phone Numbers
were retrieved from each of the 131 Ground Transportation
Websites and were cross referenced and compared with the 517 Records
obtained by the The Arizona Department of Weights and Measures to determine
which companies are Registered with their Department.
The AZDWM helps to enforce a State Law governing Taxis, Limousines,
and Livery Vehicles. Based on
the available information contained within the websites, 24.4% or
32 of the 131 websites were Registered with The Arizona Department of
Weights and Measures.1
The TransportationReviews.com site
aids in communicating which Airport Ground Transportation
companies provide a consistent high level of service.
Companies who are Transparent and encourage their customers
to leave Feedback on the TransportationReviews.com website
may be rewarded with new business opportunities from a new
traveler or from a previously dissatisfied customer.
