Inquire and Understand the Terms of the Cancellation Policy.
|
Airport ground transportation cancellation policies
are different from one company to another. Review the contract to determine
how much time is required to cancel the reservation in order to avoid a cancellation charge
which in some circumstances may be up to the full trip charge including required "Add-On" fees.

Comparing Rate Information on Limousine Companies
|
Limousine services are advertised on a either
an Hourly or a Fixed (Flat) rate. Limo operators generally
advertise airport transfer service using a Flat rate
and may require specific "Add-On" fees. These "Add-On" or
miscellaneous fees may include fuel surcharge, driver wait-time,
airport fees and a mandatory gratuity to the driver of 15 - 20%
of the total fare. As a result, when comparing airport rates among
different companies do not just rely on their published base rate.
In many cases the true rate may be substantially greater than their
advertised base rate. Not all limousine companies display their limo
rates on their website. Ask the limousine company to provide you with
written details regarding their rates in order to avoid the use of
hidden fees.
|
Unauthorized Use or False Conveyance of Membership Affiliation.
|
Some ground transportation companies may display
one or more service marks on their website including the Better Business Bureau (BBB)®
logo without authorization. The BBB® requires companies who display their service mark to
provide a link back to the official website of the BBB®. The BBB® site will
provide detailed information about the transportation company and confirm their status
with their organization.

companies fail to communicate and display important industry information on their company website.

a higher level of transparency.

The Company's Website Displays Photographs of Many Different Types of Vehicles
on Their Fleet Page.
|
Some ground transportation companies advertise or display
photographs of vehicles on their company website that they
do not own or operate. Some companies may broker out the reservation without
communicating this information to the customer. Verify with the ground transportation
company if they own and operate the vehicles which are displayed on their company website.
|
How Relevant are Testimonials which are Displayed on Ground Transportation Websites?
|
Some ground transportation companies display written statements of
recommendations on their website from their customers which are commonly referred
to as testimonials. Unfortunately based on our research, many ground transportation companies
abuse this marketing practice and create fictitious testimonials. As a result, Transportation Reviews
recommends not to base your purchase decision on these statements. (The reviews posted on
TransportationReviews.com are validated by our site administrator and must meet our strict site guidelines).
